How to Use The New Issue of Death+Taxes

Stephen Blackwell :: Monday, October 19th, 2009 4:41 pm

The next issue of Death+Taxes is on stands now! And it’s a doozy. Not only is it Jay Reatard’s first cover, but the issue has some sweet interactive content waiting for you up in “the cloud.”  To get it, all you’ll need is a cell phone with a camera that can send MMS text messages or e-mail. You got one? Great. Let’s do it.

While flipping through the issue, you’ll come across pages stamped with red icons of either a camera, video camera, or head phones. This means the pages are hot, and there is additional content waiting for you to download. How to get it? Just take a picture of the page with the phone in your camera, then text the image to 66268 or e-mail to [email protected].

Click through for an example! More content is available using your cell phone and the new issue.

What’s Not To Love About Jonathan Ames

Isaac Lekach :: Monday, October 19th, 2009 1:43 pm

If you haven’t picked up a copy of our latest issue (the one with Jay Reatard wearing a speedo on the cover) run, don’t walk. Do it now. There’s a great interview with Jonathan Ames in it. We love him over here at D+T. Ames, who is known for his humorous and  self-deprecating take on sexual misadventures, is the creator of the new HBO show Bored To Death, which stars Jason Schwartzman, Zach Galifianakis and Ted Danson. Last night, Ames’s own plans to watch the show fell through and was left without access to HBO. So, the man took to Twitter and asked his followers for a place in Brooklyn. And it worked! Some strangers invited Jonathan Ames over. Of his experience, Ames later tweeted, “I may have made myself too at home, though. I asked for the lights to be dimmed to make it more theatrical.”
