Watch the performance of the SNL classic here. If only Tracy Morgan and Chris Kattan were on hand, then we could call it a reunion. If you’re curious, or can remember the original-find it here.

Even though the song starts with a reference to White Castle, the Brooklyn duo prove they can do more than just rap about combination fast food joints on “Rainbow In The Dark.” Peep the video here. It’s mostly SFW… though you do get a glimpse of some pubic hair courtesy of Victor Vazquez.

Final Fantasy Changes Name

Isaac Lekach :: Friday, December 18th, 2009 2:00 pm

Remember when Puff Daddy became P. Diddy and then later dropped the “P” entirely? Or when Santogold swapped the “O” for an “I”? Well in that tradition, Final Fantasy is now Owen Pallett. Write that down. Pallett’s next album, Heartland, will be released on January 12th via Domino.

The Clientele Announce Tour

Isaac Lekach :: Friday, December 18th, 2009 1:30 pm

I heard a rumor that The Clientele were breaking up. Fortunately, they’re not showing signs of that. Peep North American dates after the jump. Bonfires On The Heath is the name of their latest album. I recommend putting that on instead of whatever x-mas album your mom has going-not because it’s a festive record, but just because it’s good and x-mas albums are not.

Cusack Is Back!

Isaac Lekach :: Thursday, December 17th, 2009 9:30 am

I don’t know why John Cusack felt he had to star in the apocalyptic dud 2012-fact is-it doesn’t matter, because his next movie, ridiculous as it sounds, looks like it spells redemption. It takes place in the eighties, co-stars Craig Robinson, Clark Duke, and Rob Corddry, and is called Hot Tub Time Machine. Zing! Watch the preview after the jump!

Los Angeles’ garage rockers The Goat, which features skaters Andrew Reynolds, Shane Heyl, Kevin “Spanky” Long, Beagle Oneism, and photographer Atiba Jefferson, announced details for their debut album this morning. The Goat Speaks is the name of the record and it’ll be released on February 9th via Werewolf Heart Records (Ryan Gosling’s label). Gosling isn’t the only celeb, apparently, who appreciates their music. The Goat also counts plus-sized porn model Crystal Clear as a supporter. Shins’ Mercer & Dangermouse Reveal Album Details

Isaac Lekach :: Wednesday, December 16th, 2009 9:00 am

Broken Bells is the name of James Mercer and Dangermouse’s project. March 9th marks the date of their self-titled album’s release. And apparently the single will premier next week on their website. I’ve been waiting patiently for a new Shins album and am mildly miffed that this is what we’re to look forward to from Mercer. In my opinion, Dangermouse’s production is best suited when paired with Cee-Lo. Modern Guilt, the record he produced for Beck, is tragically mediocre (not sure whose fault that is). Anyway, here’s hoping Broken Bells is worthwhile. At least their publicity photo (see left) is nice.
