The three of these, in their quiescent Antler’s glory, can be generously listened to and downloaded through the station’s website, here.

Amy Rose Spiegel :: Friday, March 12th, 2010 3:45 pm

Baltimore band Wye Oak is certainly keeping busy.  In addition to inspiring me to struggle with tons of ill-conceived tree jokes (Wye Oak?  Because pine was busy!  Wait, what?), they’re releasing a free download of “I Hope You Die” from their new EP, My Neighbor/My Creator and beginning a national tour today. Cyber Sex. Sub Pop. What More Could A Girl Want?

Amy Rose Spiegel :: Wednesday, January 20th, 2010 5:45 pm

Sub Pop’s laying claim to some great bands lately.  They show this off sufficiently in their new Cybersex 2.0 Sampler.  Heralded by a ton of shitty .gifs and (gulp) Comic Sans MS, they provide downloads of this and the Cybersex 1.0 Sampler here.  How perfect is that “rock band” one?  Um, I guess that’s what I picture in my head when I listen to The Ruby Suns… MORE »

Isaac Lekach :: Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 4:45 pm

Swedish chanteuse Lykke Li is giving away her cover of The Shirelles “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.” Click here to watch the video and download the song. It’s considerably more subdued than the original-and almost everything else Lykke Li’s ever done. But sometimes it’s good to cry. Just a little bit. A little bit.

Isaac Lekach :: Friday, November 13th, 2009 11:30 am

Nottingham, England’s The Tindersticks have been at it for a while-since the early nineties. On February 16th the group will release, Falling Down A Mountain, their eighth album. “Black Smoke” is the only song we’ve heard off Mountain, it’s upbeat for the Tindersticks. Singer Stuart A. Staples still has it. He’s quite the baritone-like the British Barry White… well, not quite. Click here to download it.

Free Download: Jaguar Love “Up All Night”

Gray Hurlburt :: Friday, November 6th, 2009 5:00 pm

Jaguar Love, that squeaky, energetic super-group from Portland, has a new single out on the web for your downloading pleasure. It’s called “Up All Night” and is unsurprisingly shrill, amalgamated and chock full of synth. Love em’ or hate em’, what they give you is an mp3 that would go hand-in-hand with a 22 oz. bottle of energy drink. Jaguar Love is going on tour this November. Tour dates after the jump. MORE »

Music Video: Bobby Birdman “Weighty Weight”

Isaac Lekach :: Friday, November 6th, 2009 3:15 pm

Bobby Birdman’s new record, New Moods, will be out next Tuesday courtesy of Fryk Beat. If you recall we posted a Free Download link for the first single “Only For A While” late September. If you blew it and didn’t download it then, do so now-here. New Moods is an eclectic record. His video for the track “Weighty Weight,” which was just released, is (pardon the choice of words) a great deal moodier than “Only For A While.” But who wants a record where every song sounds the same? If that’s your vibe listen to Nickleback. Check out the video after the jump.

It’s almost as good as “Lola” by The Kinks and you can check it out here. I think it’s called “The Ladyboy Song.” You can also download the track “What Makes Him Act So Bad”-presumably off his forthcoming album-here.
