Conan O’Brien’s Final Tonight Show, Tonight

On Thursday, January 21st, NBC and current Tonight Show host, Conan O’Brien, reached an agreement that will end his short stint as host of “The Tonight Show.” After weeks of finger-pointing about ratings and general disarray between the two parties and Jay Leno, O’Brien’s contract was finally bought out by NBC for $32.5 million, meaning his last show is tonight. Prince Debuts ‘Purple and Gold’ for Minnesota Vikings

Last night, Minneapolis, Minnesota native and world renowned musician Prince debuted his song ‘Purple and Gold.’ It’s a sort of fight song for his hometown team, the Minnesota Vikings, who last week, trounced the visiting Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. The song was released three days before the Vikings are set to hit the field at the Louisiana Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints, for the NFC Champsionship Game. MORE »

Support the Haiti Relief effort with The Love is Love Showcase tonight at the Highline Ballroom!

Tomorrow, January 19th L’Union Fait Force Groove Collective featuring DJ Logic, Bernie Worrell, Dr. Lonnie Smith and Roy Hargrove will put on a Haiti Benefit show at Le Poisson Rouge.

City Winery will feature Haiti Benefit Shows over 4 nights (January 20, 21, 24 and 25) which will include Patti Smith, Lewis Black, Yo La Tengo and many more.

Haiti native, Wyclef Jean will be at the helm of the “Hope for Haiti” Telethon at Radio City Music Hall.

All proceeds, including merchandise sales, from Lady Gaga’s performance at Radio City Music Hall on January 24 will go to relief organizations for Haiti.

NOFX Announce Fermented and Flailing Tour

The seminal punk rockers, NOFX, have announced the dates for their upcoming Fermented and Flailing tour. After kicking off the tour on February 21, 2010 at The Musink Festival in Costa Mesa, CA NOFX will head to South America for a slew of dates. The tour will hit many of the same cities which were featured on their Fuse TV show, NOFX: Backstage Passport. If you saw the documentary series you know they faced countless issues including cancelations and no payment, all making for another intriguing venture in the band’s illustrious history.

After their final South American show on March 7, 2010 in Curitiba, Brazil NOFX, in typical fashion, will take a month off before hitting the road for a number of North American dates. MORE »
