Fractal Goodness

Adam Kearney :: Thursday, March 18th, 2010 6:00 pm

Here in New York City it’s a beautiful spring afternoon, and for those of us stuck in offices here is a little fractal fun to keep your mind off the warm weather outside (as well as that thing going on in Austin right now). Swirl your mouse around the colored circles up top, and they will divide exponentionally, like a fertilized cell maturing into a spring chicken.  Enjoy!

The Hobbit to Begin Filming in July 2010

Johnny Sanford :: Thursday, March 18th, 2010 12:15 pm

The Hobbit will begin filming in July, according to Ian McKellen’s website, and it looks like he’s ready to don Gandalf’s robes once more.
According to the site,

THE HOBBIT’s, two films, start shooting in New Zealand in July. Filming will take over a year. Casting in Los Angeles, New York City and London has started. The script too proceeds. The first draft is crammed with old and new friends, again on a quest in Middle Earth. The director Guillermo del Toro is now living in Wellington, close to the Jacksons’ and the studio in Miramar.”

Other rumors involving the film include Hugo Weaving as Lord Elrond and a possible 3D release in 2012/2013.
